The Ultimate Los Angeles Travel Guide

Well, you’ve done it.

You’ve saved up your money, you’ve booked your flight, you’ve found a hotel, and soon you’ll be on your way to beautiful, sunny, luxurious L.A.

So now what?

Well, that’s the thing, isn’t it? You’ve spent so much time trying to make this trip happen that you forgot to plan out what’ll happen on the journey! You might have a few locales and landmarks you want to see, but if you don’t slap a travel itinerary together soon, your journey will be just a big waste of time!

Have no fear.

1. Venice Beach

This long strip of pristine white sand has long been recognized as the eccentric epicenter of California culture. It does get more than its fair share of tourists for this reason, but that’s kind of what makes it as great as it is! Another trending culture in California is calisthenics. If you are interested, here’s the link to beginner’s calisthenics program, barbrothersreview.com – bar brothers workout.

In my opinion, a day spent sitting at an outside table on the boardwalk, just looking around and taking note of all the different and diverse people you can see, is a day well spent.

If that’s not your thing, take a walk down the thing and see if any of the stores catch your eye. Visit a café, browse a bookshop, or maybe even just lie in the sand and sun. Swimming is always fun too – after all, it is a beach as this is something most important ever.

2. Rodeo Drive

If you can afford to buy anything on this street, I envy you and you incredibly deep coffers. If you’re in the same boat I am, though, and just took a stroll down the lane pretending to be Julia Roberts in Pretty Women, well then cheers to you!

This $200 million Ersatz cobbled walkway boasts a crowd of touristy window shoppers and people with the actual intention to buy (with the money in their pockets to back it up) alike. A small hop away is Anderson Court, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and all your fashion dreams come true pose tantalizingly in the windows.

They just cost your house and all of your internal organs which are important to all people in their lives.

3. The Getty Center

The Getty Center is a museum of the highest caliber. Located on the side of a tall hill overlooking the city, with a lovely view of the skyline at night I’m sure, this expansive campus boasts one of the most robust exhibitions in the world.

Sure, it might not match the grandeur and rich collections of some Old World galleries, but there’s something to be said about the variety of sculptures and paintings that sweep back across the ages.

Cézanne, Monet, Van Gogh and Renoir lend their classic masterpieces to the walls, and out in the sculpture gardens, an intrepid art student might just recognize the names of Miró and Moore gracing a pedestal as it is well known ever.

4. Disneyland

I could never forgive myself if I somehow neglected to mention the Magic Kingdom itself. The feeling you get when you walk in through the gates and find yourself strolling down Main Street USA is akin to coming home after a long trip, except with a lot more costumed mascots.

Spend the day with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto, and all the pals from your childhood and your children’s childhoods. Take a small jaunt over to Frontierland for some Wild West action and a ride on Thunder Mountain, and tune into the toe-tapping jazz music of

New Orleans Square.

Space Mountain, the Indiana Jones Adventure, and other such thrill rides will keep the older ones entertained, and at the end of the day when you’re all tuckered out, make sure to grab a spot a little closer to the gates than everyone else, so you don’t get trampled after the fireworks show.

Sun, Sand, and Surfing

With all that, you’d think that your journey to L.A. would be complete, but not even close, honey! There are tons more to do in that historic town, from visiting the Griffith Observatory, to finding the secrets of the universe Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room, to taking a look into the far past at the Jurassic Museum of Technology, this town has something for everyone!

Of course, if you’re the non-adventurous or quite a type, you might just prefer to kick it at the hotel’s pool. And that’s perfectly fine – the warm sun, mild weather, and tasty fruit drinks are sure to keep you occupied.
